So, it’s 2025 and I’m looking forward to a New Year brimming with opportunities for building my business, developing financial abundance and travel with my love.
If I’m being completely honest, I wasn’t a huge fan of 2024 as it had quite a few moments that I would rather forget.
A great example is that we’re still going back and forth with Emirates about our lost baggage and week-long flight delay in Dubai from back in April…
They have zero interest in making any compensation or being held accountable. They’ve tried every delay tactic known to man in the hope that we’ll just go away.
Yeah – nah! I don’t think they know who they’re dealing with…
In any event, this was the tip of the iceberg, but this essay is not about reliving past ills but looking forward to a New Year.
The best part is that my photography business continues to ramp up with a host of bookings already for 2025 which is great.
I was able to grow my business in the final three months of 2024 to exceed my targets for new customers acquisitions which was awesome.
The pace of growth hasn’t seemed to have slowed, which is a good sign.
So, from a business perspective I’m feeling very positive and optimistic about what 2025 has to offer.
However, this is just one piece of the puzzle…
When I talk about financial abundance, I guess this is a multi-faceted point in that I need to continue to put money aside for a future where I no longer need to work.
Although this still seems like a long way off, I want to get well ahead of the game to ensure that working is my choice and not a requirement.
This seems to go hand in hand with the growth and development of my business but also to develop multiple revenue streams so that I’m not reliant on just one.
Next for 2025, I want to be in a position to travel for extended periods with Judy.
Now, I’m sure you’re thinking okay but how does he do that while building a local business?
After our recent trip to Singapore and Hong Kong she is ready to plan our first international trip. Usually, I plan every aspect of our travel, but on the flight home she told me she wants to plan and book our next trip.
I jumped at the opportunity for her to move into a planning role, with me adding that I’m happy to provide guidance only if and or she needed it.
We have a long weekend in Melbourne planned for February (Judy’s belated birthday present from November) after I gave the choice of where she’d like to go on her birthday trip.
Melbourne is her favourite Australian city so she’s excited for four days of coffee, culture (art galleries) and exploring.
Travel doesn’t always mean overseas exotic sounding trips…
Nope, as I’ve said many times some of your best adventures will be local or even nationally versus international.
One of my underlying goals this year is to expand the concept of what Indelible Adventures Media provides.
Strangely, I’ve been noodling on the idea of producing a fashion show for young and upcoming designers here in Brisbane whereby they would have the opportunity to showcase their latest lines.
Clearly, still only in the conceptual phase but the idea of helping the next generation achieve their dreams is one that has been percolating for a little while now.
This incubation concept could extend to up and coming models, stylists, photographers etc. I definitely believe it has merit, now its whether I can convince others of this, find a location and source designers…
Another idea that I’m also toying with is to hold a pop-up exhibition of my travel photography on canvas sometime this year.
Whether this is a collaboration with a local gallery or business is still to be teased out, but the idea would be to showcase some of my best work over a short period of time.
Much like one of my book launches hold a cocktail party to kick it off.
This fits nicely with developing multiple revenue streams, while continuing to build a local network and collaborate with other like-minded people.
Unfortunately, many creative have been burned (me included) with promises of future opportunities without anything materializing so the aspect of developing collaborations will take time.
So small steps are important here…
As you can see 2025 is another year of reinvention, but I’m truly excited about the possibilities.
However, let’s not fool ourselves it will be a year of dedication, focus, self-belief and perseverance that will ultimately make this year a success.
Nothing is guaranteed nor handed to us, but if we’re willing to work hard then we can tip the scales in our favour.
Sometimes we just have to also get out of our own heads, not overthink everything and let the universe do its thing.
2025 is all about mindset, letting your creativity shine through and putting your best foot forward every day!
Who’s with me?
Until next week.
Ciao!
