Byron Bay

Byron Bay rain forest

The depths of the rain forest near Byron Bay on the New South Wales north coast.

I took a week and drove the 1100 kilometres between Sydney and Brisbane.  Some incredible beaches, lush rainforests and awesome places to stay and explore presented themselves to me, including Byron Bay.

The stark beauty of the northern New South Wales beaches, of course all empty except for me.

A deserted house inland from Byron Bay. I would love to know its story and history.

The mighty Pacific Ocean crashing ashore near Byron Bay.

A coconut covered in sea life washed ashore near Byron Bay.

Sea life in the shallows and rock pools along the coastal rocks.

Tragedy in Byron Bay, a newspaper article from 1952.  I noticed this inside the Byron Bay lighthouse museum.

Check out a recent story I wrote about this fabulous part of Australia.   Enjoy!
