My path to the life I have is unique.  Like all of us, no two stories are the same irrespective of location or timing we’re all individuals and have our own specific story to tell, as indeed are our pathways to success.

Crazy as that sounds for the 8 billion of us, and the 117 billion who have come before us there are no two stories the same.

Clearly, a lot has to do with where we are in history, our country of birth, our health and more so our motivations…

I’ve been fortunate enough to have a number of reinventions over the course of my life with today me owning and running my own media company.

You would have been hard pressed to write a script that’s taken me from growing up in poverty in rural Australia, through a teaching then consulting and technology career in Canada before returning to Australia and now running my own company.

It’s strange how life takes you, but to be fair I’ve been able to reimagine and reinvent myself over the years, however there are some important skills and capabilities that have enable me to do this successfully.

Firstly, keeping an open and positive mindset about opportunities.  I’ve learned over the years that opportunities present themselves to you for a reason and at the right time.

Irrespective of whether you’re ready for them emotionally or not.

Sometimes, it’s about stepping back and looking at the opportunity then having the courage to lean into it wholeheartedly.

Second, it is really about courage.

No matter who you are there will always be a multitude of reasons and potential excuses that you can conjure up in your mind as to why you shouldn’t pursue something.

Fortunately, for me my, wife Judy has the ability to set me straight when she feels or sees me wavering….  I trust her judgement 100%.

The next most important quality is being true to yourself.

Authenticity coupled with your commitment will take you places you’ve only ever dreamed about.

For many of us who have been around a while can smell out someone who is just saying the words and playing the game versus showing us who they really are.

If you’re like me, you always want to surround yourself with authentic and inspirational people.

A great friend of mine, who I once coached playing football has had his ups and downs over the years in terms of finding his north star in life.

However, once he was able to tap into who he was and what inspired him he took the leap and now is a successful entrepreneur in Perth.

Tino found his passion and inspiration and has created something truly special.

Don’t get me wrong it’s not that he just dreamed it up and it worked.

Far from it, he’s poured his heart and soul into his business not only create a profitable and sustainable business, but also to create the best authentic pizzas in Perth.

His three locations around Perth are a testament to his diligence, perseverance and hard work…

Some might say this is easy, but Tino creates his own dough from scratch and has done from his early days when experimenting in his test kitchen along with his special sauce for his wings…

I have to say they are both absolutely delicious!

He’s been on a mission to bring something unique to his clientele that has him rated as one of the most beloved and talked about eateries in Perth.  Yep, three locations and counting…

He’s invested considerable time and money to perfecting the perfect dough for his pizzas, under the tutelage of master pizza makers in Rome, Napoli and New York.

Tino’s success is no fluke or flash in the pan.

Nope, he’s the real deal.

Just ask any one of the thousands of people and families that adore his pizzas and hot wings in and around Perth who often travel considerable distances to procure his delicious fare.

He is an inspiration that few know the story behind…

I’d like to think I help inspire others with my writing and photography just like Tino does with his pizza and wings.

I believe we all have the ability to inspire others in some way, shape or form.

However, to begin the process you have to have back yourself in and believe in yourself and what mission you have in life.

Having found it, then it’s about getting to work and putting in the work behind the scenes to propel you forward.

Many like the accolades, but few want to put in the hard work that accompanies success.

As you know it takes incredible focus, perseverance and determination to create the life you’ve always wanted.

One that you’ve developed and created for yourself and that truly inspires others around you, now that’s worth working for.

Strangely, the hours don’t seem to matter when you’re fully invested in what you’re passionate about.

Lots of critics talk about not following your passion, but to me this is the secret sauce to your success.

For me, and Tino it’s all about bringing the passion combined with the hard work to make life happen the way you see it in your mind’s eye.  Maybe it’s time to go for it?

Food for thought…  pardon the pun!

Until next week

Ciao!
